Last night’s meeting, attended by about 100 concerned local residents was addressed by a senior planning officer. We were given a useful insight into the workings of the planning process for mineral extraction applications.
At the moment, a application for a scheme at George Farm, Denby is going through the planning process and is due for determination on Monday 3 December 2012. All the documents relating to the application are available on the Derbyshire County Council planning website. [Click here to see the documents]
I would advise anyone wanting a better understanding of the process to spend some time examining these documents. But be warned: there’s a lot there and it’s pretty heavy going – I must have spent three or four hours in the last few days looking at them and have still not read everything!
The more of us that have an understanding of the Mineral Planning application process the better prepared and able we will be to challenge any Provectus application.
Incidentally, it is interesting to note that the validation date for the George Farm application is 24/1/11 – it has taken nearly 2 years to reach determination!
